Silk Kimono Edition // Incarnations of INANNA
%100 Silk Crepe de Chine
Incarnations of INANNA is a five piece %100 silk kimono collection created by Ece Özalp in collaboration with Meltem Şahin. Each illustration created by Meltem is based on actual reliefs, sculptures from Mesopotamia dating back to 4500 BCE.
Inanna is an ancient Mesopotamian goddess of sexual love, fertility, and warfare. She is also known as the "Queen of Heaven." And she was associated with the planet Venus and her most prominent symbols included the lion and the eight-pointed star. Inanna appeared to be the first Cosmic Goddess of great complexity and sophistication, but also a source of various interesting archetypes of the warrior goddess, the sensual goddess, and the mother goddess. In all of these different archetypes and incarnations, she speaks to us about our power, potential, and great complexity.
